FAQ's

How is Play Therapy monitored?

Play Therapy is monitored using Goodman’s Strengths and Difficulties Questionnaires (SDQ’S), teacher and parent feedback. This is to ensure we are all working together to support the child.

Will you tell me what happens in the playroom?

Play Therapy is a clinical therapy; therefore, the therapist cannot share exactly what the children do in their sessions. (In the same way, a counsellor would not discuss what their client disclosures). We will be available to chat with you about your child and help you with any worries or concerns.

Is there any support for me?

We will support anyone working with the child. We can offer advice and suggestions with how to manage behaviour and increase classroom participation. Don’t hesitate to contact us!

When will therapy end?

When the SDQ scores begin to reduce and there is a notable difference in behaviour and well being both in class and at home; then discussion between relevant parties will take place to discuss ending of sessions.
